Following the successful completion of its incubation and national pitch phases, the FISATUR project is now setting course for its next major milestone: the Trade Navigation Tour (TNT), taking place from 17 to 30 September 2025.
The TNT is a cross-border journey across France, Spain, and Portugal designed to highlight innovation in coastal tourism and entrepreneurship, strengthen regional cooperation, and promote the sustainable development of Atlantic maritime regions. Over the course of two weeks, the tour will connect multiple coastal communities through a series of local events, networking sessions, and outreach activities.
Objectives of the TNT
The Trade Navigation Tour aims to:
- Co-design a roadmap for fishing tourism and local development with the Atlantic Network Advisory Board, through seminars, product showcases, business forums, and heritage events.
- Demonstrate the value of fisheries diversification, by showcasing real-life examples of tourism-driven revitalisation and local tradition sharing.
- Raise awareness among coastal stakeholders, especially tourism offices and public authorities, about the potential of blue entrepreneurship and sustainable fisheries-based activities.
- Promote blue economy start-ups and SMEs, helping them reach new audiences and connect with regional partners.
- Encourage youth engagement through talks and workshops in schools, focusing on maritime heritage and entrepreneurial opportunities in the blue economy.
- Foster transnational cooperation, reinforcing shared strategies to promote sustainable tourism across Atlantic countries.
- Enhance social acceptance of fisheries diversification and the benefits it brings to communities and ecosystems.
Route and Key Destinations
The TNT will include stops in the following locations:
- France: Concarneau, Le Guilvinec, Lorient, Etel and Quiberon
- Spain: Viveiro, Burela, Vilagarcía de Arousa, San Cibrao, Baiona and A Guarda
- Portugal: Viana do Castelo, Caminha and Esposende

Each location will host targeted events such as:
- Public presentations and demonstrations of FISATUR-supported projects
- Regional forums and stakeholder meetings
- School outreach activities promoting maritime awareness
- Cultural programmes highlighting local fisheries and tourism heritage
Strengthening cooperation and visibility
By fostering collaboration between public authorities, businesses, educational institutions, and civil society, the TNT will activate local ecosystems and strengthen the FISATUR Atlantic Network. It also serves as a platform to showcase innovative blue economy initiatives supported through the project’s incubation programme.
This collective action is expected to lay the groundwork for long-term cooperation and help build more resilient, inclusive, and innovation-driven coastal regions.
