On 16 September 2025, the FISATUR consortium gathered in Concarneau, France, for the Transnational Meeting, coinciding with the launch of the Trade Navigation Tour (TNT). This in-person meeting marked a crucial milestone in the final phase of the project, bringing together partners from Portugal, Spain, and France to align strategies, review progress, and prepare for the final stages of implementation.
Hosted by Technopole Quimper Cornouaille (TQC), the session provided an opportunity to reflect on two years of collaboration, assess results, and reinforce the operational coordination of key project components, particularly the TNT and communication strategy.
Key topics discussed
Throughout the afternoon, the meeting addressed several work packages and strategic topics, including:
🟦 WP2 – Tourism dynamics
Led by Institut Agro Rennes-Angers and FUNDAMAR, the session explored the proposal for a sustainable tourism strategy and provided an update on the Atlantic Network’s progress in aligning blue tourism demand and supply across sectors and regions.
🟦 WP4 – Trade Navigation Tour
ICSEM and partners presented the final agenda and logistics for the TNT (17–30 September), including roles of mentors, entrepreneurs, and hosts at each stop. Discussions also focused on merchandising and coordination between land and sea activities.
🟦 Mentoring programme on TNT
An overview of the mentoring component was shared, detailing the incubation programme, support for participating entrepreneurs, and the schedule of onboard mentoring activities during the tour.
🟦 WP5 – Communication
IPVC introduced the social media content calendar and publication plan for news articles, while Eologic presented final guidelines for the project’s dissemination video.
🟦 WP1 – Management and Coordination
FUNDAMAR provided updates on the final implementation phase of FISATUR and discussed project closure planning.
🟦 Atlantic Strategy guidelines
Julia Beile introduced future funding opportunities relevant to FISATUR partners, aligned with the Atlantic Action Plan 2.0 and upcoming EU calls in the blue economy and tourism sectors.
Looking forward
As the TNT begins its journey along the Atlantic coast, the Transnational Meeting served as a critical moment to reinforce internal coordination, align outreach activities, and prepare for the project’s final reporting phase.
FISATUR partners reaffirmed their commitment to:
- Supporting blue entrepreneurship through visibility and mentoring;
- Strengthening transnational cooperation on sustainable fishing tourism;
- Preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Atlantic coastal communities.
