Rimini, Italy | 4–7 November 2025
FISATUR was proudly represented at ECOMONDO 2025, the leading international event for green and circular economy solutions, held in Rimini, Italy, from 4 to 7 November. The project participated at the EU Blue Economy & Circular Transition stand, following its selection by CINEA and EISMEA, alongside other pioneering European initiatives driving sustainable growth across the blue sector.
Represented by FUNDAMAR, FISATUR joined a vibrant community of EU-funded projects working to accelerate the transition towards a more resilient and inclusive blue economy. This recognition highlights the project’s contribution to the sustainable development of Atlantic coastal regions and its commitment to promoting responsible, community-driven, and innovative blue tourism.
Showcasing the Trade Navigation Tour (TNT)
Throughout the exhibition, FISATUR presented its flagship initiative — the Trade Navigation Tour (TNT) — a cross-border journey promoting sustainable fishing-tourism experiences across France, Spain, and Portugal. Visitors to the EU stand were able to watch the TNT promotional video, explore interactive materials, and learn how the project connects entrepreneurship, maritime heritage, and environmental awareness across Atlantic coastal territories.
The project also participated in several sessions within the ECOMONDO programme, including:
- EU Funding for Green and Blue Transition Projects (5 November)
- Pitching Session for EU Beneficiaries (6 November)
- Blue Skills & Jobs: nuovi profili professionali e nuove competenze per la crescita blu sostenibile (7 November)
These sessions provided valuable opportunities to share knowledge on fishing diversification, blue jobs, and capacity-building in the maritime tourism sector.
Building Connections Across Europe
Participation in ECOMONDO allowed FISATUR to exchange experiences and insights with other EU-funded projects such as BLUE PORTS and BOUTCAR, strengthening cooperation and mutual learning across different regions of Europe. Through dialogue with fellow beneficiaries and visitors, FISATUR contributed to a shared understanding of the vital role of tourism and fisheries in advancing sustainability within the blue economy.
The project’s presence also reinforced the importance of linking cultural and natural heritage to sustainable economic activities, a principle central to FISATUR’s mission and aligned with the EU Blue Economy Strategy.
A Platform for Dialogue and Cooperation
Being part of CINEA’s exhibition area offered an excellent opportunity to present FISATUR’s results to a wide European audience and to position the Atlantic Area as an active contributor to the EU’s blue and circular transition.
This participation underlined a common message shared by many projects at ECOMONDO: that strengthening the relationship between tourism and the sea is key to achieving true 360° sustainability, where environmental, social, and economic progress move forward together.FISATUR extends its gratitude to CINEA, EISMEA, and the ECOMONDO organisers for providing such an inspiring platform for innovation, cooperation, and exchange among Europe’s blue economy stakeholders.
