This stop focused on <strong>dialogue<\/strong>, <strong>reflection<\/strong>, and <strong>cultural discovery<\/strong>, shedding light on the future of <strong>maritime tourism<\/strong> and its vital connection to fishing communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Regional Maritime Tourism Event: Perspectives on the Future of Coastal Tourism<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The day began with a <strong>Regional Maritime Tourism Event<\/strong>, where participants explored the <strong>future perspectives of maritime tourism<\/strong> and its relationship with <strong>fishing communities<\/strong>. The event provided an opportunity for discussions on <strong>sustainable tourism<\/strong> and the critical role that <strong>fishing heritage<\/strong> plays in the development of <strong>coastal areas<\/strong>. Insights were shared on how local communities can balance the preservation of maritime traditions with the growth of responsible, tourism-driven economies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later in the day, participants enjoyed a <strong>guided tour of Viana do Castelo\u2019s historic centre<\/strong>, where they explored key heritage sites, local fishing traditions, and the city\u2019s enduring connection to the sea. The day highlighted how <strong>fishing<\/strong> and <strong>tourism<\/strong> can complement each other as powerful drivers of <strong>sustainable coastal development<\/strong>, while celebrating the <strong>maritime identity<\/strong> of <strong>Viana do Castelo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Final Day in Caminha, Esposende, and Ap\u00falia: Celebrating Coastal Traditions and Cultural Identity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>30 September 2025<\/strong>, the final day of the <strong>Trade Navigation Tour<\/strong> took place in <strong>Caminha (Vila Praia de \u00c2ncora)<\/strong> and <strong>Esposende<\/strong>, marking the conclusion of the 14-day journey. This last stage celebrated the <strong>richness of maritime traditions and heritage<\/strong>, showcasing how coastal communities preserve their unique identities while embracing sustainable tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>Caminha<\/strong>, participants had the chance to observe and engage with local maritime traditions at <strong>Space of Memories of the Sea<\/strong> and <strong>Lagarteira Fort<\/strong>. The visit to the fort highlighted the municipality\u2019s efforts in <strong>preserving and promoting its maritime identity<\/strong>, linking <strong>cultural heritage to natural heritage<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was followed by a <strong>guided tour of the Esposende Maritime Museum<\/strong>, one of the winners of the Portuguese incubation programme, offering a deep dive into the region\u2019s rich maritime history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day continued with a visit to <strong>Ap\u00falia<\/strong>, where participants explored key cultural landmarks, including <strong>Lugar das Pedrinhas<\/strong>, the <strong>\u201cMasseira\u201d of Mr. Manuel da Arminda<\/strong>, and the <strong>Sargassum Museum<\/strong>. The visit concluded with a <strong>cultural performance<\/strong> by the <strong>Sargaceiros Group of Casa do Povo de Ap\u00falia<\/strong>, adding a lively, authentic touch to the day\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Successful Conclusion to the TNT Journey<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With these final activities, the <strong>Trade Navigation Tour<\/strong> concluded, strengthening <strong>dialogue<\/strong>, <strong>cooperation<\/strong>, and <strong>cross-border connections<\/strong> between <strong>Portugal<\/strong>, <strong>Spain<\/strong>, and <strong>France<\/strong>.
